SAFE ~ SMART ~ TOUGH
Works like the rest of your AC-powered home
Enphase microinverters use state-of-the art technology to convert DC power to AC underneath each panel, eliminating the need for high voltage DC cables and connections. Enphase’s low-voltage AC design ensures uncompromising safety for your home.
Rapid shutdown is built-in
Rapid shutdown is mandatory on all solar systems in the United States to reduce fire risk and improve fire fighter safety. While not yet law in Australia, Enphase microinverters can safely shut down automatically without the workarounds required for less sophisticated central inverters.
Remote technical support
The Enphase Envoy Communications Gateway connects your solar array to the internet, facilitating live access to data on system performance and critical issues. The Envoy sends out automatic alerts about technical issues to your installer and enables remote troubleshooting.
Powerful performance means lower electricity bills
Just 9% shading on solar panels connected to a central inverter can lead to a system-wide decline in power output by up to 54%1. Enphase microinverters operate independently at a panel-level to generate the most energy possible, significantly increasing system output.
Monitor energy generation and control your usage in one app
The Enphase Enlighten app (iOS and Android) gives you a real-time view of your energy production and consumption at a panel level. So, you can make informed choices about how best to use the energy your home generates.
Be ready for tomorrow with unparalleled flexibility
Enphase microinverters allow panel arrays to be installed across multiple roof areas and orientations. This level of design agility enables the maximum harvest of sunlight and means that your system expansion options are only limited by your roof space.
Take full advantage of your power
Don’t waste the energy your system produces when nobody’s home. The Enphase AC Battery stores your excess power for when you need it, so you can save a whole lot more on your energy bill.
Own a system you can count on
Australia’s weather is no joke, especially in remote locations. With more that 1 million hours of extreme environmental testing and an industry-leading commitment of less than 500 defects per million units manufactured, Enphase microinverters are built to last and thrive in the harshest of environments.
No single point of failure
Unlike the older, central inverter systems, if a panel or Enphase microinverter stops working, the rest of your system will continue to function with minimal disruption. Your Enphase Envoy will also automatically inform your installer and most cases issues can be fixed remotely, saving you days of downtime and the hassle of having to call out a technician.
Longest warranty on the market
Enphase is obsessive about quality and stands by its products with the industry’s strongest warranties. Enphase microinverters come with a 10-year warranty as standard, with options to extend coverage to 15, 20 or 25 years.
POSSIBLE INCLUSIONS
Legacy DC central inverter systems
A central inverter system can only output as well as its lowest-performing panel. Even a small amount of shading and soiling results in diminished capacity, which means less money in your pocket. Optimisers can help but add another point of failure to the system. Plus, with up to 1,000 volts of DC on your roof, arc-faulting and fires become a serious concern.
Enphase AC microinverters
Microinverters deliver a scalable, high-performance system with panel-level independence. No matter the obstruction only the individual panel is affected, greatly enhancing system output. From a safety perspective, the DC-AC conversion happens at each panel, eliminating the threat of high-voltage DC power faults.
Mean Time to Failure (MTF) Comparison
Device
Traditional central or string inverter - MTF 10-15 years
Disk drive in a personal computer - MTF 57 years
Enphase Micro-inverter > 300 years
Solar panel/module > 600 years
Solid state memory (used in computers) - 800 - 1000 years
Other proof points:
In a CHOICE member survey on solar PV systems, only 3% of Enphase inverter owners reported problems. This is significantly lower than owners of Aurora (17%), Fronius and SMA inverters (both
19%).
Enphase Microinverters are commonly chosen for daycare centres and schools, since they meet even the strictest government safety requirements.
For Rural Fire Services QuIneensland (RFS), Enphase microinverters were the only choice:
“RFS looked around for a reliable safe and highly productive solar system to meet our needs of reducing cost while doing our bit for the environment. The Enphase system has achieved this result and we are already seeing excellent benefits from the systems with brigades producing more power than we are using. The use of microinverters with each panel has ensured we will have a long-lasting low maintenance system which has the highest safety standards.”
